Plot Summary
Rosemere loves Petero. Her family doesn’t and bewitches him. But Rosemere carries Petero’s child. A village young couple PETERO and ROSEMERE, still living with their parents, their relationship takes an unexpected turn when Petero is bewitched to madness due to land wrangles between families. When his uncle finds out a solution for his life recovery, Petero does not wish to reunite with Rosemere, unfortunately, he gets overwhelming joy when she mentions how she’s expecting his baby… Uprising Ugandian talent JOSEph S KEN, skillful and well trained, proposes a traditional, rural screenplay with modern filmmaking craft. That Small Piece "Akataka" (2011) is our secound produced feature film after "Master On Duty" (2009). DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT The development of THAT SMALL PIECE story started when I visited my village and I had a long talk with a former WITCH DOCTOR known as PONSIANO NTIRA. we shared a lot and I focused my interest and I emphasized to go in details of this story where during his service as a renown strong witch doctor by the year 1992, he served two homes with witch craft to fight themselves, due to land wrangles they had over a land boundary and the conflict raised from shifting the landmark. …why land? Today in Uganda, Land is an issue in every society, people fight and kill one another over land. So, in my story I resolved the matter by showing the audience how such issues can be handled and also calling on African Governments for help in such situations as a way of saving lives… DIRECTOR’S BIOGRAPHY JOSEph S KEN, born 1983 in Uganda, professionally a Visual Artist holding a Bachelors Degree in Art and Industrial Design from Kyambogo University (2004-2007). 2008 he started engaging himself into film training, workshops and the making. So far some of the film training programs he has attended to are; Maisha Film Lab - Uganda, One Fine Day Film Workshop - Kenya, Durban Talent Campus - South Africa, now he is a practicing film writer, Producer and Director and he is the founder of Zenken Films.
